dev-n-diva's Full Review: Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadow, Pink Petals
My daughter has been asking a lot about makeup lately. After discussing it with her thoroughly I agreed to get her a couple of sets of eye shadow. After checking out everything our local Walmart had to offer I purchased two different sets of Revlon Illuminance Cream shadow for her. My favorite set is the Pink Petals though.
Revlon Illuminance cream shadow in Pink Petals comes in a thin black case with clear hinged lid. There are four colors total: a real light petal pink, a little darker pink, a mauve shade, and a plum color. This does not come with an applicator so you will need one or you can just use your finger which I prefer for easier blending. You can either mix the colors for a layered look or wear them individually.
Since my daughter is just starting to wear makeup I will not let her wear the plum color unless I put it on her. It is a pretty color just not for young girls. It makes for a nice evening shade though. To me the lighter shades are more for day time use since they are on the soft side once on.
I have mixed feelings about the cream shadow while my daughter loves it. I love the fact that cream shadow glides on smooth and easily. It blends easily with other colors and does not separate or run on your eyelids. Which makes it safe to use if you wear contacts. The colors have a nice sheen to them that makes my daughters eyes pop. My daughter loves that she does not have to worry about this shadow getting in her eyes and that it is easier for her to blend than powder shadow that I generally have to go back over since she has gotten it on to dark.
I do have a few dislikes when it comes to this cream eye shadow though. Though the color looks great going on it does not take it long to start creasing on the eyelids. The colors do not last long either. In just a matter of a couple of hours the color is completely gone and you are needing to re-apply it. My daughter loves this though since she can change out her eye color every couple of hours. I have found if I lightly dust my eyelids with translucent powder before applying the cream shadow that it lasts a little longer. It does not last longer than four hours though even with using the powder first.
For myself this does not really impress me since it doesn't last long and I can not stand the creasing. However for a young tween whom is just starting to learn how to use makeup I feel it is a good starting points.
Discontinued and VERY hard to find this shade! Four gorgeous shades layer and blend seamlessly for limitless effects. Creme Shadow Fragrance-free. Irr...More at Amazon
