Pros:Efficient, a number of speed and temperature settings, reduces frizz and adds moisture
Cons:Cord is not retractable, a little pricey
The Bottom Line: This is the most efficient hair dryer I've ever owned. It is perfect for any user.
Ive never liked drying my hair. Ive always felt it was too time consuming. My new job landed me in a predicament as far as my hair was concerned. I now have a rough, hour and a half commute, involving a train ride, a ferry ride, and a 20-minute walk in windy downtown Manhattan. If I dont wash my hair in the morning, my hair is an oily, stringy rats nest by the time I get to the office. If I shower in the morning, it is only an oily, stringy rats nest by the time I get home. A morning shower means wet hair. With the cold winter weather rolling in, allowing my hair to dry during the commute isnt an option, so Im stuck blow drying my hair.

My hair isnt inordinately long, but it somehow took me thirty minutes to blow dry my hair each morning. I thought my hair dryer, at the time, was moderately powerful. It certainly was noisy. I had complained about it numerous times to my mother, who pointed out the Revlon Ionic Ceramic Pro Stylist 1875 Watt Dryer. I purchased it, figuring I didnt have anything to lose, and I gained fifteen minutes in the morning!
Features and Usage
This is an ionic dryer that employs negatively charged ions to keep hair moisturized (through a process that reduces the size of water droplets). This feature is toggled by an on/off switch on the top of the dryer and as the product box claims, it greatly reduced the frizz in my hair. I have very thin hair and it tends to be affected by frizz, among other flaws. For the last 3 months my hair has looked softer and shinier than I remember it ever looking.
The Revlon Ionic Ceramic Pro Stylist 1875 Watt Dryer is no more difficult to use than any other dryer. This dryer has two speed settings; high and low. I consistently use it on high for a time-saver, and I find it sufficiently powerful. The low setting is comparable to a consistent light breeze. There are three temperature options. The cool setting is just room temperature air blown at whatever speed setting. I use it periodically when I feel too hot while blow drying my hair. Warm is the setting I use most frequently. It is moderately hot, but not burning, similar to the highest setting on most dryers Ive used with only two temperature settings. A hot setting is also included, but I found it to be too hot. It felt much too hard on my scalp for me to use it. There is a cool trigger button, as well, if you want to cool the air down for just a minute. The aforementioned features are all controlled with slide buttons along the handle, just as they are set up on most hair dryers.
I typically run my hair dryer on warm and high, occasionally switching to cool. This configuration takes about 15 minutes to fully dry my hair. Sometimes I alternate between high and low, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes longer to dry my hair.
My previous dryer would often overheat and need to be left off for 5-10 minutes after use. Sometimes it would shut off or even trip the circuit breakers. I havent experienced any of these difficulties with this dryer.
This dryer has a sleek design and is relatively lightweight, weighing 1.2 pounds. It is comfortable to hold. A concentrated tip is included that can be attached or detached from the tip of the dryer to concentrate the air as needed. I leave it on at all times. The dryer is powered by an AC adapter. The cord does not retract, which I was a bit disappointed by, but it is sufficiently long for me to plug it in and move about freely over a reasonable radius. Ive had previous dryers that made it a struggle to have the dryer plugged in and in use at the same time.
My Revlon Ionic Ceramic Pro Stylist 1875 Watt Dryer was $39.99 at the time of purchase.
I highly recommend this hair dryer for any consumer, especially those who are pressed for time or are in a constant battle with frizz.
