*** As with all my reviews, this is a Cruelty Free product from a maker that does NOT use animal testing.***
I am definitely NOT a cosmetics maven. Of course, I like to look and feel pretty. I like a nice, clean look and want simple products that are simple to use. I do NOT want to waste time shopping department or specialty shops for makeup.
Cost is also a big issue for me. I'm a very frugal gal. Because I don't wear a lot of makeup - sometimes days without - often product gets thrown away first for hygenic reasons before it's even close to being used up. So I'm definitely not going to throw away $20 on something as basic as eyeliner.
A few months ago it was time to replace my e.l.f colored liners. Although they had come cheap, I hadn't been too thrilled with them. So I went back to a purchase from way back, Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner.
What You Get For about $9.99, you can choose one of Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner six shades: Black Velvet, Sueded Brown, Burnished Amber, Antiqued Gold, Brushed Pewter, Blackened Sapphire. Each pencil comes with a built-in "smudger" sponge.
The ingredients are: Hydrogenated Coco Glycerides, Triethylhexanoin, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Ricinus Communis Seed Oil (Castor), Dipentaerythrityl Hexahydroxystearate/Hexastearate/Hexarosinate, Cera Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera/Carnauba Wax), Polymethyl Methacrylate, Ozokerite, Tocopherol, BHT, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, May Contain (+/-): Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510)
I have found Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner readily available at Wal-Mart, CVS and online.
How It Works, or Not I went back to Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire for two reasons; 1) the color, and 2) the smudger. I have dark brown eyes with very few golden specks. I like to use dark liners on the top lid, and then accentuate with colored liner underneath the bottom.
Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire goes on very smoothly. The color is a deep, dark navy blue. After applying a thin line underneath the lower lid, I then genly use the smudger sponge to soften the line a bit. I have found that this color works better than brighter blues I've tried. Blackened Sapphire compliments my eye rather than drawing attention to the liner itself.
Even though Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner is not a Colorstay product, it will last a good 8 or more hours for me. The only time I experienced smearing was when I forgot to remove it before bed.
My Final Take Revlon Luxurious Eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire has been elevated to one of my Must Haves. It is the right price, easy to get, easy to use and looks great.
