Cons: hair tangles easily
poor instructional video
poor final results
expensive
The Bottom Line: Not worth the time and effort. For the price, it's cheaper to purchase chemical straighteners, a hairdryer or just wear your hair curly! Hard to use, below average results.
I have pretty thick and wavy hair and was excited to try this product, as I normally spend about 30min with a hairdryer, paddle brush and straightening products to get my hair looking quasi-normal in the morning!
I saw the infomercial a thousand times and thought "y'know, the brush is actually brushing your hair, and it's battery powered, so how could it NOT work?" Oh boy, my thoughts were way off.
I took it out of the package and let it charge for 10 or so hours, as the instructions suggested. During this time, I checked out the instructional video that comes with it. But I didn't learn anything more than what they show in the infomercial. Pretty useless.
I attached the brush and sectioned my hair off into 2 inch sections. The instructions suggest starting on the low speed until you feel comfortable with the styler. So I did. My hair tangled almost instantly and I thought maybe I had too much hair. So I made the section smaller. And turned the switch to "low." The Revo Styler started rolling, and my hair was going round and round the brush, but it didn't make it THAT straight. It did give it lots of static though. Not something I was happy with.
I decided to try my whole head, thinking that once all of it was straight, you wouldn't notice the static. Or it would go away. Negative. The back of my head was nearly impossible to do. My arms were getting so tired from holding the darn brush and sectioning off the hair and whatnot. By the time I was done, I'd spent about 40 minutes styling my hair and it looked no better than when I used a hairdryer.
I gave it a few more shots and the product was so difficult to use. I asked my roommate to give it a shot, on my hair, to see if it worked better for her. But that wasn't the case. My hair still got tangled in the brush and it didn't look any better.
I don't like how the infomercial depicts the product. They show amazing results that just don't happen with the product. After using the product, and realizing that the back of my head was hard to do, I noticed that the infomercial never shows one of the women straightening the back of their own head. Only the hair around their faces. The infomercial is misleading, the product gave poor results, and I was an unhappy customer.
I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody because I think it's easier to use a hairdryer and straighten your hair the "old fashioned" way; by using a brush and heat.
