Pros: easy to use, hardly sticks, you can throw them away
Cons: just one shape in each box
The Bottom Line: These are a fun way to make treats (and transport them) without breaking the bank. I think it is worth it, especially if you have children.

| HJS33's Full Review: Reynolds Fun Shapes Baking Cups and Cake Pans |
Reynolds has come up with a fun new product, small aluminum foil baking cups. The ones I used are stars and hearts, and although I have no children, I must admit, I felt like a little kid making my treats, and I had a fun time of it.
Product
Each box comes with 24 foil cups of whatever shape you choose to buy and costs $1.99 for the box of 24. Not a bad price at all if you ask me. I do wish that they would have more than one shape in the box though.
They come in a fairly small blue box that lists on it very simple directions (basically, place ungreased baking cups on a cookie sheet, fill the cups ½ full and bake according to the recipe; the jell-o jigglers recipe is slightly different, but I didnt try that).
Some suggestions of items to make are jello, cupcakes, cookies or brownies (at least that is what Reynolds pictures on the box). I went with the brownies. Chocolate is good.
Overall
As I mentioned, I went with making brownies. They were really very easy to make
just mix the mix and pour them into the cups (and if you do not slop the mix all over the cookie sheet like I did, cleaning up is very simple). I was surprised at how lightweight and maneuverable these cups were, but they held shape very well while the brownies cooked, and then being able to maneuver them so easily helped me get the brownies out without any problems.
The only thing I suggest when making brownies is that you do not overcook them if you use the cups. Even though the mix said to bake for close to 30 minutes, I figured since these were not being cooked in a pan and were going to be cooked as individual sized brownies, they may cook quicker, and I was right. I put them in for about 15 minutes instead, and it worked out very well. Depending on the power of your stove, you may have the same experience, so I would suggest trying 10 or 15 minutes and then checking them with the toothpick method. Oh, and something else that I liked about the brownies is that they had a slightly crispy edge to them, and you dont get that when you cook them in a big pan (unless you get an edge piece of course).
So, Who Should Get These?
Personally, I think that a lot of folks would like these. Anyone who would like to make baking a little more fun should definitely get them.
My first thought was that if you have kids, you should get these, especially if your kids like to help you out when you bake. It seems to me that using the Reynolds Fun Shapes are any easy way for the kids to help out with the baking, but with less mess, and they will most likely get excited when they see that their cookies look like hearts and/or stars. Also, should you need to bring in treats to your childs school or anywhere else, they will already be in their own little cups to hand out (and I find them to be sturdier than the cupcake wrappers).
Also, they might be nice to get if you want to do some baking for your special someone or for a holiday (stars for the 4th of July pops into my head). In my case it wouldnt be horribly romantic to share my heart shaped chocolate brownies with my love, as he does not like chocolate. Yeah, I know, something is just wrong there, but that means more chocolate for me.
I think I covered everything. Thank you to all who read and/or rate. I really appreciate it. I just wanted to thank Hass MS&L, who sent me these Reynolds Fun Shapes Baking Cups free of charge to try out in exchange for my honest review. I had a really great time using them.
