Why I bought Riddex

Riddex plugin pest control was my dream come true. The packaging and all the information I had gathered told me of this wonderful marvel. I live in the country, or used to live in the country until the developers bought land around my home. Anyone who has lived out in the country knows once you cut down the high grass in outlying areas the field mice find new homes. These mice found my home very comfortable.

The summer had predicted this year to be bad for what appeared to be an unusual amount of "ladybugs". The actually are not ladybugs instead they are some type of German beetle. The big black carpenter ants had made a beeline (no pun intended) into my home. Earwigs had decided to make themselves at home too. Our home was not only full of love but also full of little critters that did not belong. I did not want Riddex plugin I NEEDED it.

I bought into the hype and purchased two Riddex plugins. The electromagnetic and ultrasonic pest control that was safe for my kids, pets and myself. This was a comfort to know my family would be safe from those choking fumes this year. No longer would I have to worry about our family breaking out with asthma attacks, rashes or the stench of sprays. Riddex plugin was going to be the best thing since sliced bread.

Riddex claims

There are no chemicals involved whatsoever, all you do is plug it in and that is it. How much simpler could it get? Riddex plugin was not suppose to bother my dogs ears, or irritate any animal or living creature that was suppose to be in my home.

Riddex plugin is durable and maintenance free which is very true, this product is attractive and very durable. You simply plug it into an outlet and there you have it. You need to be aware it will cover both outlets, there is not turning tis device upside down or sideways to save an outlet.

Riddex plugin size is about the size of a pack of long cigs. (this is the best of my recall) approx 3 1/2 inches in height, and 3/4 inches thick and 2 1/2 inches wide. I was sent two different colors of Riddex plugin, one was white another was eggshell white (off white). The red indicator light blinks telling me the electro magnetic pulses and the ultrasonic waves were working. Both blinked for me so I thought they were working.

The coverage area or effective range is 3,000 to 3,5000 square footage of your home. Riddex plugin sounded so good to me that I got two of them to make sure the pests would be gone. You can also buy the Jr. version of this model, but it only covers a 500 ft square footage of your home and I needed more.

What is Riddex plugin suppose to rid you of for sure? Well, they claim it rids you of crawling insects ants, spiders, roaches, flies, and most all crawling insects, rats, and mice. The magnetic and ultrasonic waves are supposed to irritate the insects enough that they leave your home. It does not kill them it just makes them leave.

Outcome

Two weeks after using these Riddex plugins I still had the same problem. I called customer service at QVC because I could not find a contact number for Riddex, and they told me I should give it another week, because I may have had a "massive infestation". So, I gave it another week, still no results.

The kicker with Riddex plugin, what made me upset was the afternoon I walked into the kitchen and saw a little field mouse sitting atop the device! I could have had a cow right then and there. At this point it was evident that I had gotten taken and taken good.

I do not suggest using this device; it simply does not work as indicated. I still had ants, mice, earwigs, and beetles. I ended up buying a fogger for the insects and glue traps for the mice which took care of all my needs at a fraction of the cost of ONE of the Riddex plugins.

Since I bought this through QVC there was a one-year warranty. I sent the items back and it took me only a one-month billing cycle to be reimbursed for my money minus the shipping and handling.
