Pros: Informative, entertaining with respect for the seriousness of the endeavors involved.
Cons: Little.Compare with the other ( B1704) Epinion posted on the subject (product).
The Bottom Line: Given the choice between the original published version of this novel and the film I have a sound preference for the former one.

I may not be a thoroughly experienced reader in contemporary literature (later 20th Century ), nor a chronic novel aficionado of author Wolfe`s product but having some personal and professional affiliation in the on going industry of space exploration I found this written version well exceeds the film version by at least a moon missions distance. Tom apparently did all of the necessary homework concerning this, of course, much storied endeavor on the part of pilots, scientists, administrators(?), engineers, technicians and others with a genuine interest and involvement.
The stories provided through this difficult, trying and at times extremely challenging accomplishment of modern times and technological advances are treated with a well written mix of humorous incident(s) and anecdotes. This version of one of the most fortuitous undertakings throughout mankind's living and working is the prefer version in my Epinionated view, though the movie subsequently produced was made perhaps, at least, with the best of intentions, the book absolutely tells the tale best.
