Pros: Great for people who are average bleeders, three sizes per box.
Cons: Regular sized ones just don’t cut it for me.
The Bottom Line: A nice multipack assortment of tampons but get them when they are on sale to get the best price.

| Freak369's Full Review: Rite Aid Tampons, Multipack |
Im sure this has happened to every woman at some point in time so I take some comfort in knowing that Im not alone in this. You know your period is a few days away but something tells you that its going to come early this time around; you ignore that feminine intuition and go about your merry little way when it happens. My start date is carved in stone however I never know if its going to start light or kick in to high gear right off the bat. That was what happened a few months ago and I was almost stranded in my SUV, I could see the Rite Aid store but was terrified that I wouldnt make it to the back of the store, then back to the front to pay for them in time. Lady Luck decided to throw me a curve ball, my usual brands were both on sale at the same time but I didnt get to do my happy dance no, they were both sold out. My only choices were some weird brand I never heard off or the Rite Aid Multipack.
Maybe I am too picky about my choice of tampons but if it is something that is going to be inside my body for an hour or to, Im not going to go with whats necessarily the cheapest on the shelf. Since time was of the essence in this case I went with the Rite Aid brand and hauled butt to the bathroom. They looked like regular tampons, worked like regular tampons and allowed me to get from point A to point B without any leaking. I figured that even if I used these in case of an emergency or tossed them in the back of the SUV for just such an occasion, theyd get used eventually. I did stop at another store and get my usual brand but decided to try out the two other sizes in the multipack to see if maybe, just maybe they were a little more absorbent.
After having used them I can say that they are a good product but I cant see myself using them exclusively. Theres nothing wrong with them and if you get them on sale or as part of a buy one get one free promotion then you can save a good bit of money but I am too used to my two usual brands. That doesnt mean that I wont pick these up when they are on sale or have them around when I am running low but to be completely honest I am way too picky about what goes in my body. These have a secure stitching in regards to the cord and how it is attached to the tampon, they are individually sealed and labeled and they are biodegradable but they arent my usual brand. Maybe I am hung up on them being an in house product or they have the Rite Aid name on them but like I said, I am way too picky about the types of tampons Ill buy and use on a regular basis.
Size Assortment
The Rite Aid multipack comes with a total of 40 tampons in the following sizes: 16 regular, 16 super and 8 super plus. The regular sized ones are pretty much useless for me since I am a heavy bleeder but the super and super plus ones are a blessing. The regular ones get used the last few days when I have occasional spotting but since I change them [out of force of habit] every hour or so, I use them up quickly so I dont have a hundred of them sitting in fifteen half empty boxes. The sizes are labeled on the outside of the paper wrappers so you know exactly which one you are using, this eliminates having to guess which size youve reached for and youll always know how many of each size you have left.
Posi-Lock Explained
Maybe its just me but Rite Aid is really going a little overboard with the term Posi-Lock. If you have ever used tampons that come with a cardboard applicator you know that once its properly inserted, the smaller tube slides completely into the larger one. Rite Aid felt the need to give this a special name and use it as a selling point saying that it locks the tubes together to prevent accidental tube separation. Unless Ive been one of the luckiest people alive, in all my years of using tampons, this has never really been a problem for me.
Price
Since my first purchase of this product was an emergency type of situation, I didnt really care about how much they cost. Chances are if they had my regular brand in stock I would have purchased them but that simply wasnt the case. These were on sale for $4.29 for the 40 count box with the usual price being $4.99. Thats the average multipack price for most leading brands and I sort of expected Rite Aids in house brand to be a little less. You can get these cheaper if you shop during a huge sale or one that offers you a buy one get one free deal. If you were considering trying these out, getting them on sale would be the best bet. If you arent satisfied with the way they perform, return them to your local Rite Aid store for a refund or exchange.
The Bottom Line
These are good tampons but if it hadnt been an emergency situation chances are I might not have tried them. There are some things that I just cant skimp on and tampons are one of them. Being a heavy bleeder I have to have a constant supply of super and super plus tampons on hand and my usual choices are Kotex Security or the Tampax brand. Now that Ive tried out the Rite Aid brand I would consider buying them in the future but only the super or super plus size boxes instead of the multipack. Why? Regular sized tampons arent something thats going to give me the protection that I need, sure I can use them the last days of my period but even then, there are times when my cycle picks up speed and I need something thats more absorbent.
As always, thanks for the read!
