Pros: It's a beautiful, efficient unit.
Cons: Parts cant be replaced depending on where you buy it from.
I purchased this unit in November of 2005 because I found it pretty and had never seen such a decorative pot before. The liner extends high above the base and at first I was concerned about heat distribution, but found that it works great. I used to leave it out on the counter and people would instantly ask me about it.
This unit holds a generous 6 quarts, enough for an entire family. I used it to make a couple days worth of a soup or stew at a time and pack for lunch. There are three heat settings, a high, low and keep warm setting. I really like the convenience of clean up as the liner is dishwasher safe. Rival also sells slow cooker bag liners that you can cook in with out dirtying your crockpot. At 10 for $3.35, I found them a great investment. It's about 18.11 inches tall and 14.17 inches wide. The temperatures are accurate and food turns out great without overheating.
Now then, If you choose to purchase this unit, be very careful with it. According to the Rep I spoke with, this unit is a Special unit with no replacement parts available. If you break any one single part of the unit, liner, lid, anything, there is no way to replace it. I happened to drop my lid and it shattered. I found this out the hard way.
Luckily, they were able to send me a replacement since the unit was under warranty still, although they didn't have any in stock and sent me a substitution instead. I didn't like the substitution and gave it to a Lady I work with that I don't like very much. Happy Birthday Christine! LOL
