| zelo's Full Review: Rock and Roll Baby Names Books |
I bought this book on a whim. I have almost every baby name book that has been written and I HAD to have this one. What better place to look for baby's new name then from the era of rock music we all grew up on from the '60s all the way into the '90s.
The book starts with a quick preface that quite frankly I glanced at... I wanted to get into this book, and that is exactly what this book does! No whimpy table of contents for this book... no this is what's to come for this book... just straight in your face 200MpH here it is come and get it.
SECTION ONE:
The first section of the book starts with the letter A and names an incredible number of names that either come from people who were in a rock band, a rock song, or whom a song was named after.
Who can forget Eric Clapton's Layla... or Jenny from Tommy Tutone (867-5309)! WAKE UP Little Suzie. You get the idea.
SECTION TWO:
The second section focuses on grouping names by band... from ABBA to ZZ Top they are all in here. Most bands are listed with a short quip about them and then the names of songs where names are present are presented throughout the book.
I am utterly suprised that there is actually 248 pages of names in this book, but the author Eric Thoroman pulled it off and did it nicely. My wonderment turned to suprise and my suprise to sheer enjoyment, and for under $6 I am sure you will love this book too... if just to take you on a walk down memory lane.
