| jeffrrey1970's Full Review: Rodeway Inn Chapmanville |
Well ok this review is about a trip that happened three weeks ago, so I will do my best to remember everything. I had to go to Chapmanville for a week for business with my company, Combined Insurance. I was not to thrilled about having to drive 5 hours in a down pour of rain to Chapmanville. On the way I hear on the radio about flooding in that area. I did not like to hear that, and I found out later on just how much that would effect me. However the company was paying for everything.
I knew things were going to be different at this hotel, when I had a hard time finding a parking place. Then I had to lug my luggage down a hill from the parking place, to the lobby, all while in a down pour. The lady at the check in desk, first of all had a hard time finding a room for me, eventhough the company reserved a room for me. Unlike many other hotels, this hotel did not use a computer to check you in. They just used a piece of paper with the room numbers on it. So ok that was fine, I just wanted a room since I was tired. Well to my luck she said that they would give me a suite with a jacuzzi. YEAH!. I then asked her if she could take my Usairways frequent flier number so I can get miles for my stay since Rodeway Inn has a deal with Usairways. She looked at me strange and had no idea what I was talking about. I was too tired to argue so I just went up to my room.
So I get to my room. I am so excited because I wanted to take a nice warm bath in a jacuzzi and relax. I turn on the jaccuzi and nothing comes out. I soon found out that because of the floods, the main water line in the town busted. Of course this was no fault of the hotel. As a matter of fact the hotel tried to find us bottles of spring water to use to bath, but there was none to be found for a long ways. However the problem is I am a door to door salesman, and part of the reason for our trip to Chapmanville was to make sales. The water was off for three days, so imagine a salesman showing up at your door after three days without a bath or shower. It was not a pretty sight.
Normally, if I have not had a bath or shower usually I can't sleep well at night. The good thing is the beds were so comfortable. As a matter of fact each morning I did not want to get out of bed. Once the water was back on the jaccuzi was devine. It was not one of those little cheap jaccuzi's that some hotels have. This one was huge. I am 6'3" and you could have fit three of me in there, ha ha ha. Also, the tv's were nice. They offered over thirty channels. Plus, the rooms were very clean. I tell how clean a room is by how clean the bathroom is, and the bathroom was always well kept.
Overall, despite my unusual experience I have to give the Rodeway Inn in Chapmanville, West Virginia a thumbs up. They came through for us in a difficult situation. Plus, they kept there cool when people kept calling the front desk asking when the water was going to be turned on.
God bless through Jesus Christ with lots of love,
Jeff
p.s. I am not sure of the room rate since I did not pay for it, so I took a guess.
