This was a much needed addition to Toon Town. Initially I felt this part of the park really lacked some good attractions and catered too much to the 3 foot tall crowd. That was until this ride came along. It is one of the few rides that both adults and children will enjoy together inside ToonTown, and nice break from Donalds boat and Goofys bounce house..
The queue line.
This is my favorite queue line. Indiana Jones would be the second. This is because there is so much to see in line so you are constantly being stimulated. After you have seen it for the 20th time though it does get slightly boring, but the line is still better than the current space mountain queue line (as well as countless others.)
The queue line mimics the movie slightly. You come across familiar characters and familiar locations. It is all very cartoonie and not like the real world settings that were in the first part of the movie. The story line sort of leads into to the ride itself.
The line is dark. I believe this is to highlight the characters and speech that is going on in the queue line. It also is designed to give you a more spooky feeling that I feel prepares you for the ride.
When you enter the main loading area take a look at the wall with the license plates. It is pretty fun to decipher them when you first ride the ride. There are also a couple of hidden Mickeys in this area if you look carefully enough.
I dont feel like spoiling it for you but feel free to take your time through it, even if people are behind you and you have to let them pass. Also, do not be afraid to knock on doors, pull doors, or explore some exhibits with your hands.
The ride itself.
The ride is very cool. It is like the fantasyland rides but it seems faster and you can spin. There are two taxi cabs attached together and each cab can hold two people. What is unique is that there is a big wheel, like on the teacups, which you can spin on the ride itself. Once you get out of the loading area you can start to spin the cab. Each cab spins independently just like the teacups. One cab does not influence the other. The story behind the spinning aspect of the ride, as I understand it, is the dip was spilt on the road and your cabs wheels started to disintegrate. So without good traction, the cab began to go out of control.
Because of the lighting, the spinning effect is a bit intoxicating. In addition, it does not matter if you are facing forward or backwards, there is always something to see, (unlike on the fantasyland rides.) The ride can be enjoyed from all angles. Also, if you do not spin then the car will move on its own so sometimes you will be facing forwards, other times you will face backwards. You can keep your car steady by steering with the wheel.
The lighting is fabulous. It stimulates your senses and increases the cartoon look. There are animatronic cartoon characters all over and all of the scenes are entertaining.
How fast does it spin?
It spins as fast as the teacups do, or so it seems. Which means if you want to get it to spin really really FAST then you need two good pairs of arms working together, just like on the teacups. There is a bit of resistance to the wheel so it does take quite a bit of effort so young children will have a harder time.
Height limit
First, babies must be able to hold their head upright before you can ride this. My wife had out daughter in a sling and all the operators asked was if our daughter could hold her head up on her own (this usually occurs around the 6 month mark.) Other than that there is no height limit. It is highly recommended that young kids ride with adults.
Fast Pass.
There is fast pass. It is only functional on busy days.
Who is this for?
Primarily families, but kids of all ages can enjoy it.
Trivia and secrets.
It is rumored that they tested this concept by putting a spinning teacup on the Pinocchio ride. Some sites dispute this though and I personally think it is false. I can't imagine the two rides being compatible.
The clowns are actually caricatures of some of the imaginers.

Hidden Mickey
There is one on the back of the door in the room where Roger is standing on the wall. You have to wait for the doors to close so you will need to have the car facing backwards and be on the second of the two cars. It is small and goes by so fast that you may want to take a photo of it instead.
Location.
Disneyland, Anaheim Ca. This attraction is located in Mickeys Toon Town. Toon Town is located in the back end of Disneyland.
When does it open/close?
Times will vary depending on the day. I have heard about it opening when the park opens but I have not confirmed that visually. Usually when I go Toon Town opens one hour after the park does. It closes early if there are fireworks that night.
Summary
A fun ride for the whole family. It is similar in style to the fantasyland rides but you can control how much you spin. The spinning is user controlled and controlled by a big wheel in the cab itself. There are 2 cabs hooked together but the spinning action is independent for each cab. And dont worry about what direction you are facing; the ride is designed so you can enjoy the ride from any direction. Definitely a must hit ride.
