Cons: not durable knives;a terrible "lifetime" warranty policy; extra costly knife block to hold set.
We bought this set about 18 months ago and initially really
liked so much that we gave a set to our friends. Shortly after that, our knives started falling apart(rusting, bolts came off) and our friends' set did the same.
When we contacted Ronco for the free lifetime replacement they stated that they "..would also need a copy of the receipt showing date and charges. You would then only be liable to pay for the cost of shipping and handling. The postage fee is only $2.50 and very low in cost compared to the actual purchase price for a replacement part".
As the knives are lifetime warranty, why would we need to supply a copy of the receipt? and considering the whole set
costs less than $40, each knife is not worth the $2.50 p/h
they would charge. We believe the $2.50 charge is actually
what the knife costs Ronco so they make out in the end and
the customer gets a cheap set of knives which fall apart.
