The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ is without a doubt the most fun appliance we have ever purchased. When you are "roistering" your favorite meat, from turkey, chicken, to roast beef or just plain hot dogs, It makes your meal an occasion. The anticipation as you watch the process while your meat goes around, the juices flow and gets done to your absolute perfection.

We Cooked our Thanksgiving Turkey with the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ . Because our Turkey was 16 lbs and this unit will only handle about a 10/12 lb Turkey, we cut off the legs and wings and used the basket first and cooked them, then we tied up the body and cooked the bird. It took about 2 1/2 hours for the bird; the legs and wings took about 45/55 min. All I did was season the bird all around with seasoned salt and it was delicious, moist and everyone raved about it.

I cooked stuffing separately, although I could have put it in the bird, with more time on the cooking timer.

Tonight my husband and I cooked 4 1/4-lb hamburgers in the basket and they were so juicy and full of flavor.

We think this is just the most awesome machine. Healthy, also, because all the bad fat drips off down into the drip pan.

There are four settings; The cook setting is rotating with heat, then there is rotating without heat, to use while waiting to serve so that the juices keep moving and food stays fresh. Then there is the Searing setting where you can rotate and sear a certain section of the meat, then there is a warming setting where it will rotate and warm your food.
These are all explained on the video or in the pamphlet for more detailed use. (All very easy, though I assure you!)

As far as I know, they come in two colors, black and white, we got black and it matches wonderfully with out other black appliances. I would hesitate about getting white, because the directions say it can discolor over time, and at least with the black, it will stay looking nice for years to come, if taken care of.

There are different sizes, but we got the biggest size, which is about the size of a medium microwave. The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ requires 8 inches all the way around. So you must keep this in mind, when deciding whether to get one or not. The reason for this, is because the unit gets very HOT when running and you need the space for it breathe easily, without causing harm to it's surroundings.

The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ comes with a 20 minute instructional video, which is very detailed, easy to understand and enjoyable to watch. We felt this was very helpful. There are also complete instructions in pamphlet form and a handy recipe and cooking time booklet. (Also very helpful!)

The Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ comes with several accessories which I will list here:

Standard Food Basket (This is non stick)(This will hold 9 1/4 lb hamburgers, fish, steaks, lobster tails, or even baking potatoes or vegetable medley.)

Spit Plate Assembly (The spikes are non-stick, but the rounds are stainless steel.) (This is your actual rotisserie unit that you mount your food or the basket of food on for rotating....)

Spit Plate Loading Base (This is the base you use to stabilize the assembly while loading your food)

5 Kabob Rods (These are stainless steel)(for hot dogs, sausage, baby back ribs or.....(drum roll.......kabobs....:-))(That was supposed to make you smile:-))

12 elastic food ties (these are to tie things like a roast, turkey or chicken.... for more compact loading...)

Steaming & Heating Tray with Lid Cover. (This also is non-stick so I would use only warm soapy water and dry) (This sits on top to steam veggies, or keep your side dishes warm, or warm your hot dog or Hamburg buns)

Drip Tray with Grate Cover (This is non stick covered so use a plastic brush to clean this one, nothing abrasive so not to scratch it.)(This sits in the bottom of the unit to collect the grease, you may line this with aluminum foil for easier cleanup, but don't cover the grate top with aluminum foil.)

Heat Reflector (actually looks like a "snow shovel" but has to be placed behind the heat coils every time you use your unit) This stainless steel and can be cleaned up with just a paste of dutch girl scouring powder on a paper towel)

There is a Glass Door that covers the front, allowing you to watch your food cook; it just conveniently slides under the unit while not in use.
I clean this with Glass cleaner.

The most awesome of all is the instant meat thermometer. You insert it and it instantly tells you if your meat is done in the middle. This information is in the handy pamphlet for the guide of what the temperature should be for safe eating.

Two washable BBQ Gloves, these are rubber on the outside and terry material inside...You can use any heavy-duty potholders.


Now they say that you can put everything into the dishwasher to clean the parts, but I prefer to just quickly clean it up and put it all back together, each and every time, that way it is ready and nothing gets lost.
I also unplug the unit and don't touch it or clean it until it has cooled off.

While not in use I push it back on the counter and keep it unplugged. It did mark the counter top when pushing it back, but it cleaned right off, so we will be more careful pushing it back, it is lightweight, also.

We got our Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ from QVC a home shopping channel, so we were able to get it at a good price. You may also get this from your local Service Merchandise store, or order from the info-mercials.

At the website www.ronco.com you can get prompt customer service and purchase other accessories that you may be interested in. They suggest emailing them with the detailed problem and they will provide you with the instructions to fix the problems. I think this is a great feature.

I guess to sum it all up, We love our Ronco Showtime Rotisserie and BBQ . I know we will use it often, it will be especially nice in the summer to use it and not heat the kitchen as much as our gas oven does.

If you are having a large crowd, this frees up your oven for baking while cooking your meat, so that is a time saver as well.

I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves meat, and loves to cook. I think it is easier and cleaner to use than using the oven.
