Pros: Vaccuums better than I do.
Gets under furniture, goes over everything several times.
Cons: Needs a bit of care, but it is WELL WORTH IT!
The Bottom Line: LOVE the Roomba. Bought mine refurbished from IRobot. It's like having a cheerful, obedient pet who cleans your house for you!

| sh8418's Full Review: iRobot Roomba 3000 Robotic Vacuum |
I've had my Roomba over a month now, and with proper cleaning after a work session, it continues to vaccuum like a charm. The neighbors have come over to watch in awe, and some will soon be ordering their own.
Most of the difficulties people have using it seem to come from improper cleaning and maintenance. If you make sure it's clean inside (a blast from a can of air is a good idea once in a while), and that no hairs are wound around the stems and other moving parts (scissors, a toothpick or hairpin will do the job), and the sensor plates are clean (soft rag and warm water), the Roomba will probably go forever. (Would I rather clean the Roomba at the sink for 5 minutes, or haul out the vaccuum and work for an hour? You figure it out.)
It doesn't do deep corners or baseboards, and for that occasional deep cleaning you need to use the old fashioned methods. But for daily and weekly maintenance, it is a miracle! I dust the house with Swiffer dusters, set off my Roomba, go to the gym for a nice workout, or go shopping or have coffee, and when I come home all I have to do is mop the kitchen and bathroom floors (with another 'modern' cleaning mop) and I'm done, done, done, 45 minutes at the most! I'll be learning Mandarin in my spare time. Thanks, Roomba!
