| ctinhan's Full Review: Rosie O'Donnell Doll |
I bought this doll for my 3 year old daughter because we both like watching Rosie on TV. I will usually turn it on to see if she is having any good kid guests, if she is we watch it, if she isn't then we do not. My daughter likes this doll because she can pretend that Rosie is interviewing her other dolls. With this doll my daughter can spend a lot of time playing make believe talk show host.
The doll is made by Mattel, the makers of Barbie and that is where you will find her at the toy store. The doll is typical Barbie quality but her body is not typical Barbie-she is much fuller all over. I think this aspect of the doll is great because it shows little girls that everyone is not the same. We all can't have the shape that Barbie has and while Rosie is not bad looking-she certainly does not look like Barbie. I applaud Mattel for making a doll like this. It is so nice to see a Barbie doll that is average looking and maybe even a little overweight.
The clothes that this doll is wearing is typical Rosie style- a pant suit, which is different for most Barbie dolls. Most Barbie's show a lot of skin but not this one. The doll comes with a microphone and a mini book(which are both small so can be a choking hazard around little kids). The box is made to appear as her stage but the cardboard is not very sturdy so the box went into the garbage after a couple of uses. Overall I really liked this doll for the lesson it teaches my daughter about appearances and how if you are not perfect-it is perfectly acceptable.
