Cons:Falling apart after 5 weeks.
The Bottom Line: While I find them comfortable, I simply can't justify spending $35 on boots that will last less than a month.
Working full time as a career firefighter and part time as a paramedic I've had the privilege of wearing black boots of this style somewhere between 60 and 80 hours each week for the past 10 years. Recently our uniform allowance was cut and in retaliation I purposely picked out the most inexpensive military style boots I could find. The Rothco GI Style Combat Boots certainly lives up to the theory that you get what you pay for.-While most combat style or police style boots are priced in the $90-150 range, the RothCO GI Style boots are significantly cheaper - I paid approximately $35 for them on January 25th of this year. In terms of the price, I couldn't be happier.-Now here I am less than 5 weeks later and my boots are in need of replacement. While I have admitted that I wear these boots on a regular basis, I am disappointed with how poorly they have held up and how quickly they deteriorated. The outer shell of the boots has started to peel away and three of the four ancets on the laces have come apart.-The rubber soles of the boots are poorly designed as well and leave streaks on hard wood floors or tiles.-I will admit that I am happy with the level of comfort these boots provide, and I've found that on occasion I'll slip them on while off duty instead of wearing sneakers. Unfortunately the comfort level does not even come close to the problems these boots have.
