Pros:kills the strongest weeds, easy to use, cheaper than a professional, can spray around bushes and gardens
Cons:Takes a couple of days to kill weeds
When we purchased our first home 2 years ago, we didn't realize
how much work a large lawn would need. We thought we could
mow it quickly and all would be fine. Well, we live near
Houston. Things grow in our yard that I had never seen before,
especially in our flower beds and around our trees. We needed
a strong and long lasting product that would kill our weeds
and other strange growths. We wanted something that would
work quickly and keep the weeds down for long periods of time
without having to respray each week. That isn't too much to
ask for, is it?
We tried many brands of weed killer and few worked at all. The
ones that did, only killed the growth and then it was back a
few days later. What's the point of that? We had a tree expert
come out to look at our trees for an unrelated reason. He saw
all of these vines growing up our pecan tree and told us it was
poison ivy and poison oak. Oh my! Glad we never got too close
to it before. We knew we had to get rid of these vines quickly
since our dog liked to roam around near the base of our tree.
The tree specialist recommended Roundup Ready-To-Use
Weed and Grass Killer. Weed and grass killer would kill
our poison ivy and oak? We were skeptical.
We purchased the 1 gallon bottle with sprayer since it looked
more powerful. Ok, it was just a bigger container. They also
have a 24 ounce bottle along with a 1/2 gallon bottle with the
sprayer. It is so easy to use and we sprayed the base of our
pecan tree in no time. 2 days passed and the ivy was still
healthy looking. Great..more money wasted. But on day 3, the
poison oak and ivy started to shrivel up and by day 4, it was
brown and dead.
Something that finally killed our poison vines! The vines will
still come up after a month or so since the roots are so deep
in the ground at the base of the tree, but we just spray them
with the Roundup and they are gone. It even works after a good
rain. You would think the rain would wash away the spray, but
it still works just as powerfully.
We use it around our flower beds as well to kill small weeds
and it works the day we spray it. We have had the same 1
gallon bottle for over 6 months now. You don't need a lot to
be effective on your weeds.
I recommend the Roundup Ready-To-Use Weed and Grass
Killer for anyone who has a yard and has weeds that they
want to kill quickly and efficiently. This stuff works on
tiny weeds and even our hard to kill poison ivy and oak. It
is also safe to use around gardens and bushes. I have even
seen my dippy dog lick the stuff at the base of the tree and
she had no effect from the product.
