Pros: Cheap and effective weed abatement control with practically 100% satisfaction.
Cons: The smell can be overwhelming. You'll need a time-lapsed-camera to watch it work.
The Bottom Line: Roundup has been around a long time with a proven track record of success. Probably the least toxic and most effective herbicide on the market available to the public.

| walkerpkw's Full Review: Roundup Weed & Grass Killer Ready-to-use Plus -1.3... |
Kills all types of weeds and grasses:
I've been using Roundup for nearly 30 years and I would have to rank this latest formula as the most cost effective convenient Roundup yet. I've been using this particular "Ready-to-use Plus" formula since late February 2009. I'm now on my 3rd refill bottle, both the pump and wand are working fine. Having the adjustable spray tip allows you to go from a fine pin-point stream, a medium spray, and then heavier rain-like droplets. The adjustable tip also helps you to consume less or more product for the most effective desired results.
Visible results in 6 hours!
At home I have a multi-tiered backyard area. The very top has approximately a thousand square ft of bare soil which is perect for my two majestic oak trees to absorb water. My first application was in late February to take out some 6-12 inch tall grass and weeds. This area is a constant year round issue but this latest version of roundup has been keeping the growth at bay longer. As advertised I noticed the grass withering within 6 hours and completely withered and lifeless in 7-10 days. Roundup killed everything in sight but a month later I had to spot treat what was probably seedlings in the dirt.
This is the first time I've ever noticed a smell from using Roundup as well as leaving the offending foliage with a glistening waxy like appearance. You won't notice the smell when spot treating but after my 1,000 sq ft application my backyard was engulfed with a distinctively thick smell of Crayola Crayons. If you're planning an outdoor BBQ or having guests over expect those with overly keen senses of smell to notice. It will take at least 24 hours for the smell to dissipate to an acceptable level. To give you an example of how powerful an aroma this can be, it's like taking an extra large Zip-Loc bag full of Crayola's Crayons and sticking your entire face inside. So after about a gallon of this stuff in a somewhat small backyard (with little to no wind) don't think of this smell in a negative way but instead think of it as victory. Just get over it by doing your own Robert Duvall impersonation, as he did in "Apocalypse Now" but with a twist and say:
"I love the smell of Roundup in the morning"
Used commercially:
In my line of business I have a few customers which I'm contracted to do complete exterior building and property maintenance. In about 15-20 minutes I can apply an entire container to the building perimeter, the base of light posts, common-area walkways or wherever weeds pop up out of a crack. To date since mid March I'm very satisfied with the results and customers haven't complained. Normally I need to re-apply every 3 months but as of my last inspection it appears I may be able to extend the next application another 30 days.
What I like the most:
This latest Roundup is now more versatile than ever with its "waterproof" formula. Before you would have to postpone applying because of rain. Now you can apply within 10 minutes of rain or watering. The pump and bottle are of decent quality and makes this a very good value.
Overall impressions:
*Easy to use and store.
*Decent quality pump that should last several seasons.
*It's not fast acting but it's "snail-like" method is 100% effective.
*Using Roundup is easier and more fun than pulling weeds by hand or borrowing the neighbor's goat.
*Nature friendly, including our pet hand-feed squirrel "Hazel" which prefers burying the nuts we feed her into the Roundup weed free area.
*Rated at 400 sq ft and for $18 I was able to wipe out about a thousand square feet of healthy unwanted growth.
*What remains after 2 weeks is so withered it disintegrates to the touch. Almost no cleanup or stubble removal is required.
*The retractable spray wand tip prevents accidental sprayings. I discovered this handy feature early on but not soon enough and learned the hard way. You should see the 2 ft wide 6 ft long brown spot in the middle of my nice lush green backyard lawn. *Not exactly accurate is their claim of 5 minutes of continuous use without pumping. It's about half that but no big deal.
*This particular formula is not advertised nor rated to kill thick brush and vine but did one heck of a job on the neighbor's intrusive Ivy. All I can say is Roundup made entire vines "brown and crispy"
Precautions:
Safe enough to be used around pets but is not recommended to be used in an "organic" garden. Although Roundup is deemed safe it contains very low levels in toxicity and will simply discredit your claim to a certifiable organically grown fruit or vegetable.
This particular purchase came with 2 bonus bottles of concentrate to make 2 more batches. When I mix a batch of Roundup I add the water slowly to prevent foam. This will take up the air space needed to propel the liquid.
One more thing, no need to shake or mix vigorously. The movement of just adding the water (1 gal per 30 seconds) is sufficient and will prevent the unwanted foaming.
