lshalliwell's Full Review: Rowenta DZ9080 Iron with Auto Shut-off
I recently purchased the Rowenta DZ9080 Iron with Auto shut-off when my Black and Decker became too scratched to use. I have never been happier.
I iron almost everything I wear. In fact my husband used to tease me that I even ironed his underwear (I didn't). I like a good crease in my jeans and pants. I detest wrinkles in cotton shirts and blouses and need a good iron with excellent steam output and even accurate heat. I also appreciate a sole plate that does not scratch easily and glides across the fabric whatever I am ironing.
This iron has it all. Excellent steam, even, accurate temperature, with lots of temperature settings. A self cleaning steam chamber, very shiny sole plate that is not coated with teflon, yet does not scratch easily, cleans easily and glides effortlessly across the fabric.
Although this iron is heavy, I find that the weight only adds to the end result which is crisp, pressed clothing that looks and feels great. I've pressed suits, blouses, pants, slacks, silk, cotton, wool, synthetic, just about any item or fabric available. I've even steamed curtains that were hanging on the rod. I've owned this iron for about 5 months and it doesn't have a scratch on it. The pointed tip works well with collars, pockets, just about any small area that you would need to get into.
If you're going to buy an iron, buy a Rowenta you won't be disappointed
