| RBenson1's Full Review: Rubbermaid Roughneck Lawn Cart 3706-03-714 |
I bought my Rubbermaid Roughneck Lawn Cart about 6 years ago for use in my gardening and yardwork. I was a little worried about the plastic construction but the design made it so much easier to handle than a traditional metal wheelbarrow so I took the chance and bought it. I have been extremely satisfied with this purchase.
The best thing about my lawn cart is that it is easy to handle. The two wheels on front instead of one like a wheelbarrow prevents wobbling and tipping over while pushing it. The wheels are big enough to maneuver over wet grass and muddy ground without trouble. And it turns easily despite the fixed wheels.
This cart is deep enough to handle hauling around a big pile of leaves or compost, and the sloped front makes it easy to dump the entire load by just flipping it forward. The little tray up by the handle is ideal for holding gloves, a glass of tea, and even has holes to drop the handles of hand held garden tools through.
The plastic construction that I was first worried about has held up very well to use and to weather. I am terrible about forgetting my cart and leaving it out in the weather for days at a time but it has held up well.
My only complaint with my lawn cart is that at the end of last summer I noticed a crack in the bottom. I suspect that this came from misuse. My husband and my son are terrible about using it to haul things around the yard that are too heavy, such as 60 lb bags of cement and heavy blocks. But it stood up to this abuse for over 5 years before cracking, and the crack is a minor one that is not affecting its use, so I am still pleased.
If this yard cart completely falls apart tomorrow, I have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it and I would immediately buy another one.
