. . . . . An Epinioner stretching too high
. . . . .Saw paint falling down from the sky
. . . . .Hed been a darn fool
. . . . .And not used his stool
. . . . .Now hes wiping brown paint from his eye.
That top board is just a stretch away. He saturates the bristles with as much paint as they can hold, gives a mighty stretch, and
Oh no! A massive glob of Florence brown satin gloss has just smacked him between the eyes smearing both lenses of his glasses. Hes now grumbling and trying to wipe clean his glasses as he stomps paintfully towards his basement. I think hes gone to get his Rubbermaid Stepstool Toolbox.
This is Rex Myhaus, contributing editor of Pseudo-Handyman Monthly visiting the home of would be handyman, R Spudman to find out more about his Rubbermaid stepstool toolbox.
Rex: So Mr. Spudman, you look like youre wearing more paint than the shed. Maybe you should have brought out the Rubbermaid sooner.
Spudman: So whats a little paint, funny man. Itll give these clothes some character. I misjudged how high I could reach. Guess I mustve shrunk.
Rex: Tell our readers about the Rubbermaids dimensions.
Spudman: Well, shes 38- 24
Just kidding. The toolbox is approximately 20 inches by 13 and stands almost 13 inches high on its four sculpted legs.
Rex: Tell us more.
Spudman: The box is gray and is made of very durable, flexible plastic material. There is a handle on top for carrying that folds down into a handle sized recess. The designers even thoughtfully added a recess into which one can slide a finger under the handle to lift it. Unfortunately on one occasion I left the handle in the upright position, stepped on it, and broke it. Handyman that I am, I repaired it with some adhesive and a couple strategically placed screws. It aint pretty, but its been holding together for a couple years now.
The top of the toolbox is hinged and can be fastened shut with its very capable latch. Also on the top of the stepstool are textured circles for traction when one stands upon it with wet on slick shoes. Opening the lid reveals a portable, shallow handled tray with two long compartments for tools and three smaller compartments in the middle for things like nails, screws, tacks or other small objects. Below the tray is a storage area. When I use this stepstool for washing the Forester I fill it with my wax, polishes, cleaners, shammy and paper towels.
Rex: Dont you mean chamois?
Spudman: ????????
Rex: Why do you need a stepstool to wash the car?
Spudman: Its difficult for me to reach the top of my SUV for washing and waxing or loading something on the roof rack. The Rubbermaid is light and portable and its textured top makes me feel secure standing on it in wet shoes. Also I can fill it with what Ill need to do the car like wax, cleaner, paper towels, radio and other necessities.
Rex: When else do you use the Rubbermaid stepstool toolbox? I cant help but notice that yours is covered with many paint marks of various colors.
Spudman: Yes, Ive used it quite a bit for painting. Sometimes the object of my project is just out of reach and getting a ladder would be overkill. For many applications the stepstool is all I need to extend my reach. Besides painting Ive used it for changing light bulbs, reaching high shelves, changing light fixtures, adjusting the clothesline tension outside, hanging photos of Mr. Potato Head, installing or removing drapery rods, and for helping me get to anything only a few inches away from my reach. My Rubbermaid Step Stool Toolbox has come in handy more times than I can remember.
And by the way Rex, you may want to change your clothes.
Rex: Why is that?
Spudman: Youve been leaning on the shed I just painted during this interview. Looks like youre wearing more paint than the shed too.
