| lesleyl's Full Review: Lenovo ThinkPad 600 E (26453AU) PC Notebook |
I bought my Thinkpad 600E about 2 years ago. They were retailing for about $3500, but I found a good deal on Ebay for $2000 from a software tester who ran a test once, so the product was still under full three-year warranty. When I first got it, I had terrible trouble with the modem and the "help desk" was not what I considered "helpful." After 3 phone calls of diagnostics, you would think they would tell me where to bring or send the thing, but no go. It finally got fixed, and once I was up and running, I was a happy camper. The keyboard is full-sized which makes it easy for me to switch back and forth between it and my desktop at work. The picture quality and screen size are excellent. I actually had my memory upgraded from 64 MB to 128 MB, and have been exceedingly happy with that as well. The 366 MHz Pentium II processor is excellent, but with my 866 MHz desktop at work, I am slightly spoiled. For a laptop, though, this thing can chug through some processing. The mouse takes a lot of getting used to, but I'm finally comfortable with it. I still recommend buying a full size mouse. Another good thing is that this computer does not come with a whole slew of useless software... it has the necessities and comes with a program to un-install the other things you don't need.
