How the subwoofer rocked my world
I’ve just about every First Person Shooter out there… Wolfenstein, Doom, Doom2, Hexen, Hexen2, the whole Quake Series, and more. In order to get the most out of these games, a subwoofer is a must. I probably have one of the best gaming setups you can get. The subwoofer is located by my feet on a carpeted floor, and the speakers are a good distance away from each other on my desk. When I play a game in my room, everyone knows it.
In general, just about every sound is intensified by the subwoofer. It delivers the best vibrations from weapons such as chainguns, machineguns, or a shotgun. With automatics such as chainguns or machineguns, each discharging bullet has a distinct vibration, making it feel like you’re right there in the middle of the action. From slower but more powerful weapons such as a shotgun, the discharge is one loud vibration, which can be felt from a good distance away. The quality of these sounds and vibrations actually has made me prefer automatics and shotguns over more powerful weapons such as a rocket launcher of BFG.
Big on music? Like to listen to CD’s or Mp3’s on your computer? The speaker system is great for that too. Sometimes when I type my epinions, I put in one of my Korn or Disturbed CDs and admire the sound and bass quality. You’re musical preference does not have to be limited to just rock to enjoy the speaker system. It enhances any form of music whether it be loud or soft, contemporary or modern, anything!
Pressed for space? No problem! The speakers are a little bit bigger than a clenched fist, and produce more than enough sound for the average user. They can easily fit on the sides of a monitor, or on a desk. The subwoofer is about half the size of a mini-tower, and can fit under a computer desk even as a potential foot rest (rest your feet while feeling the bass). The whole unit is only 12 pounds, so it’s not a pain in the @$$ to pick up and carry around.
Overall, the 3 piece speaker system is a great unit at an affordable price! It’s a prime example that proves bigger is not always better.
