Great Sound on a PC

I had replaced my factory PC speakers (JBL Pro) with a pair of Yamaha's not long after I bought my Compaq Presario. A few months ago, the Yamaha's went out on me. I listen to a lot of music on my PC & sound quality is very important. Having to use the JBL's again wasn't going to cut it for very long.
I went shopping at a local Comp USA a few days later. They had all the speakers working so you could test them out. I wanted a pair that had a good sound quality as well as a reasonable price. I stood there listening to everything they had on display. I found myself doing a comparison of one against another (I was there for at least an hour). One of the last ones I listened to were the Altec Lansing ACS45.1's. I was amazed at how great these speakers sounded.
Yes, there were some that sounded better but, they also had a price that was way out of my budget. When I saw that they were on sale for 79.99 (regular price was 99.99), I had a clerk get a set down for me, paid for them & left.
Once I got home, I found that with the instructions that come with the speakers, set-up was a breeze. I was extremely impressed with how great they sounded on my PC. I hardly ever use the compact stereo I have across the room now.
I have a very large desk in my living room that my PC is on but, with all my computer related things on it, I didn't have a lot of space left. The 2 speakers are very small in size yet deliver great sound. The sub woofer is a little bigger than my last one but it fits very nicely behind my monitor and sounds great as well.
If I ever have to replace these awesome speakers, it will be with another set of Altec Lansing speakers that are comparable to the ACS45.1's.
If you want speakers that sound great & won't send you to the poor house, these are the ones to get.
