| Brassfly's Full Review: D-link DFE 905 4-Port Ethernet Hub |
This network in a box is a great little setup. I have an adsl line at my house and needed a network to connect all the computer to the internet via the DSL line. With no-one on but me the bottle neck to downloading from the internet is my own hard drive. It cannot be copied to my computer any faster.
This network in a box was so easy to set up, all I had to do was crack open the cases and install the cards. Then once that was done install the software, then run the cables to the hub, power up the hub, set your networking options and you are done. Map out drives and printers, and grow network dependant.
The only complaint that I have about this network in a box is the hub. It is fast but it isn't auto sensing. I run the network at the 100mbps setting, but if I want to pull the 486 print server online, I have to slow down the network to 10mbps. And it is controlled on a switch on the hub, so be sure to put in a place you can get to it.
I would not only recommend this network in a box to neophytes, but also to experienced computer users, and gamers that want a multiplayer gaming system.
