| dnovaee's Full Review: Polaroid ColorShot Laser Photo Printer |
I recently picked my Polaroid Colorshots digital photo printer up for $8 plus $5 shipping from a fellow on eBay. It was brand new in retail package and included a 10-pack of Polaroid Spectra film (already worth $12 or so).
Hooking it up and installing the software is easy by 1997 standards, when this printer was first available (for a lot of money, I think I saw an original list price of $299 or $399) But even by today's standards, installation is a snap.
Getting used to editing pictures so that they are suitable to be printed on the oddly-sized Polaroid film takes some time, but you'll get it.
The colors and the quality of the pictures is really great, I was very surprised by it. From the time you press print until your picture is spit out takes about half a minute, depending on your computer. The pictures themselves take around a minute or two to fully develop.
This printer uses Polaroid Spectra or Polaroid Colorshots film, which costs around $8-13 per package of 10 exposures (retail). You can find them on eBay for around $4-6 per package.
In any case, at the low price of $13 including film, buy it and play with it, print ten pictures, and if you dont like it, resell it or send it to me ;).
