that's Full Review: Microsoft Cordless Wheel (C57-00017) Mouse
I like to read what others have to say about a product that I'm thinking about writing about before I write an epinion on it. And as I was reading through these I noticed that many of them aren't even talking about the CORDLESS wheelmouse but just the standard wheelmouse. Even the highest recommended review (by an expert) really didn't say anything about the fact that it was cordless. If I were really considering buying this mouse and went to these epinions to read about it, I would like to know about what makes this mouse so special which is the fact that it is cordless. Not that the other reviews were bad reviews, in fact they were good reviews. I just think that they should say a few words on this mouse's cordless ability! (please, I really don't mean to offend).
To be honest I got this mouse because it was on sale at Office Max I think. It was around thirty dollars and at that time I thought it would look cool. In fact I was thinking about getting it for a friend of mine but ended up opening it instead (sorry SirMontego)! In any case this is what I think of the mouse:
1) Most people like this mouse for gaming. You are no longer restricted by the cord - in other words you can no longer complain that the reason you lost was because that nasty cord got in the way. I agree it is nice for that reason.
2) If you are like me and use a laptop, then this mouse is also nice because it very easy to move around. The only thing that really needs to move around is the receiver part of the mouse and that can go anywhere. I normally run out of space in my laptop bag so being able to put this part of the mouse in my backpack or in another compartment of my laptop helps a lot.
3) This mouse is nice because it also unclutters your desk. The receiver of the mouse can sit practically anywhere. I would put it in back of my computer and it would still work. This unclutters your desk because you don't have to worry about that cord hitting anything (ie spilling your drink or knocking things over).
4) It makes your work area look nicer as well. Imagine your desk without that cord coming out of the computer. You can also get a cordless keyboard that would make everything look so much nicer.
5) I tested the distance of the receiver once. And it could go pretty far, but I don't think that it would go through walls or anything. If it was looking right at the receiver with nothing in between it would receive for maybe three or four feet. Now that may not seem like much but if you think about how far you can really go from your monitor and still read it - you will realize that it doesn't need to go very far.
6) This mouse is heavier. It needs two AA batteries in the actual mouse, which makes the mouse rather heavy. It needs it in order to get power. Now again this may not seem bad at all, but if you want to transport the mouse, it add a little and imagine pushing your mouse with double the weight. It just adds a little. Small price to pay for a cool looking mouse.
7) If you like the normal wheelmouse you will like this as well. Think of it as an upgrade. You now don't have to deal with the cord of the mouse and that makes it look so much more cooler! You get all the same functions of the traditional wheelmouse. If you have never had a scroll button on your mouse, after you get one you will never be the same. After using a scroll enabled mouse your middle finger will always search for a scroll button when you touch any mouse! It will feel strange not having that option there. And when you use a normal mouse you will still rub the middle part of the mouse thinking that it will make the screen scroll. I use the scroll button to close the screen (alt-f4). You will never believe how nice it is to have this option. You will never have to move. Try it!
Well that's all I can think of for now! Thanks for reading!
