| msandlie's Full Review: Intel Desktop Board CC820 (KCC820PAK10) Motherboar... |
I am an I.T. Helpdesk Lead and I do all the purchasing, problem solving, phone switch work, and a lot of the NT administration for a company with about 100 PC's. Our drafting department decided that they wanted to upgrade their PC's to Pentium III 700's. I decided to give them the best out on the market. I was told by a lot of venders that the cc820 Intel motherboard would do everything I wanted it to do so I purchased 11 Pentium III 700's using this board. BIG MISTAKE!! Even though they all had 384 megs of ram, huge hard drives, and the so called "best" motherboard installed, they were slower than Pentium 200's, they had memory problems, they were locking up, they were having video problems, and they were even getting blue screens of death every day. Later on I found out that Intel was recalling that model because it was full of bugs. I really wish I would have known about this earlier, luckily we had a good vender and they replaced all our new PC's with the sr440bx motherboard (which we are not having any problems with). So don't do what i did...stay away from these until intel has finally decided to lay off trying to keep up with AMD work on the quality of their boards.
