| dragons's Full Review: Canon BJC 7004 InkJet Printer |
I purchased the Canon BJC-7004 on-line as a replacement for a BJC-610 which I liked extremely well as it was convenient to load, easy to use, and relatively trouble free. I use this printer in a home office situation primarily with 8-1/2x11 copy paper and #10 envelopes, usually with a text quality print but occasionally go to photo quality, I also use it to print greeting cards with invitation envelopes. After having had a number of difficulties with the BJC-7004 (ie: it was broken on arrival and had to be taken to the nearest repair facility and retrieved after being fixed which entailed two 170 mile drives, after getting the printer repaired I had a great deal of difficulty getting it to print #10 envelopes even though I carefully followed the instructions and contacting Canon support through their website was an exercise in frustration as their replies simply asked questions that had already been answered)the problems seemed to resolve themselves so that I can make daily use of the printer. I am currently using an older version of WordPerfect and when printing a #10 envelope get a message that says that the printer did not accept the size paper selected, since clicking ok on the message causes the envelope to print correctly this is just annoying. The ink out beeping does not match the instruction book which is frustrating and expensive as I had to replace both ink cartridges at the same time and no message flashed on the screen as it did with the 610.
Even with all that hassle the machine does work quite well and I am very pleased with the quality of the photo print.
