I bought my Canon BJC-7004 Photo Realism printer in January 1999. I like it okay, it has never given me any problems. The print is clear and the photos are good - if you use the correct photo paper it recommends. It prints graphics well.
The drawbacks are the price of the ink cartridges. I'm sure this is true of a lot of them. However I pay anywhere from $45 to $55 per cartridge. And with my use I have to buy new cartridges every 6 months. I find the color cartridge runs out much quicker than the black ink.
One plus is that the printer can be used with only one cartridge. When my color ink ran out we set the preferences for text print only and it works just fine.
It is a bit slow. It will print a page in about 5 to 10 seconds. Though this is much faster than the ancestors were. All in all it's a good product.
