Pros: great text prints, decent color, fairly fast
Cons: runs out of ink fast, takes a long time to warm up
The Bottom Line: There are bigger and faster and more ferocious fish in the sea, but this printer has never done me a disservice... with the exception of running out of ink occasionally.

When we first turned the printer on, installed the ink cartridges, and otherwise brought it to life, we were proud to see it kicking. If started moving the spool back and forth and buzzing, and it was great. Only then it would stop and we would figure that it was done warming up. But we were wrong. This printer would start right up again.
I guess we are a family that prints a moderate load, but driving to Radio Shack in the dead of winter for cartridges isn't so much fun. And this printer sometimes runs out at the most unexpected moments.
Incidentally, I mention these things first to get them out of the way: these are basically the two only flaws that come with the device, and their not really all that bad. (While the printer warms up, you have plenty of time to go get cartridges.)
This printer, an inkjet (obviously), does a great job on text. It is one of the cleanest, neatest inkjet text printers I have ever seen. As for color, it does web graphics and such pretty well.
Eventually, when you want to go out on a limb, there are settings from Draft print to Super-Duper-Ultra-Photo. The latter takes an incredibly long time to print, but it's worth it. I had incredibly good results printing on iron-on paper and using Super-Duper-Ultra-Photo mode (for T-Shirts).
Overall, it is not all that expensive and delivers much better results than some no-brand $80 inkjet, definitely: it is perfect for the general consumer. However, if you're serious about quality printing, go with a $3000 laser color.
