Pros: Can Run Windows XP Professional when upgraded to 256 SDRAM
Cons: Video Out won't work under XP or W2K
The Bottom Line: If you can find one cheap buy it and try to get them to throw in another 128 Megs of SDRAM in the deal.

Toshiba Tecra 8000, still packs some bunch when running Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional. After you upgrade this notebook to the max memory which is 256 Megs of SDRAM.

Recommend you upgrade the system to 256 Megs of Ram, you need to buy two 128 Megs of SDRAM Ram. Once you do that you're set to run Windows XP Professional the right way. 128 Megs of Ram isn't enough for XP and if you rather use Windows 2000 Professional then the 128 would be suited.

Currently running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1
Very Fast Notebook with Intel PII Mobile CPU, works better with Windows XP Professional, Home Networking ICS, DSL or Cable Internet Connection. Dial-up is also good with built-in modem. XP drivers will work with this system, you don't have to worry about searching for drivers, only if you want to try to use the Video out port to connect to VCR or to TV Monitor Video In port.
Running LCD Projector for Microsoft PowerPoint or Visio Presentations this unit is handles it all.
