Pros: Very reliable, collect and return warranty and it's easy to install
Cons: Takes a while to read a cd and it ejects slow
The Bottom Line: Plextor has a lot of experience and still shows theyre the best (their 16 speed burner is just released)

| sinterklaas's Full Review: Plextor PlexWriter 8/4/32 CD-RW Burner |
My Plextor 8/4/32A is my fifht and sixth (the fifth was a DOA) burner, before this I had two Philips 3610’s and two HP 8250i’s. I really wasn’t satisfied with my Philips’and HP burners (so why did you bought two of them I see you thinking. They had both problems and couldn’t be repaired. I only bought one of each). My friends told me to buy a Plextor, something more expensive and more reliable the told me.
Allright, I believed them and bought one. I putted in my computer, my BIOS told me it was a Plextor and in Windows Nero (my favourite burning program) directly recognized it and I started burning (and I still am)
In the box you will find WinOnCd (software), Plextools (software), A nice and clear manual, a device to get out your cd’s when they cd is stuck and you can’t eject the cd and of course an IDE cable.
I prefer Nero to burn cd’s so I haven’t tested WinOnCd, I heard great things about it, but Nero is fine.
This burner is really reliable and solid. Once I burned 10 cd’s in 100 minutes and no toaster. On my Philips the third cd would have been a toaster. This burner is really good for professional use, I think you also have to use this one at home.
