| Darklamb's Full Review: Altec Lansing ATP3W 2 Speakers |
What can I say? There is an old epinion I wrote when I first started writing epinions about how great my Boston Acoustics were. They have since passed on and I had a terrible need for speakers a couple of months back so I took the dive, and luckily I managed no to belly flop.
Everyone I know keep telling me to "Buy Surround Sound! Buy Surround Sound!" I would just look at them and ask them, "You've seen my room right?" Okay then, no room for five speakers. So I made the choice to buy a set of three.
These Altec Lansing speakers are probably some of the best most affordable speakers out there. I am an avid gamer and rabbid about MP3's so I work on both sides of the sound spectrum. These baby's play both beautifully.
When I'm playing Counter-Strike with the aid of my A3D sound card I can hear shots fired, which direction their coming from and foot steps of those sneaky buggers who wanna shoot me in the back. When it comes to music it's as crisp and crystal clear as you could ever want it to be.
The first real test was right after I got them. I threw a shindig at my place and instead of playing CD's I found it a lot easier just to jam on some MP3's. Well, being as though the center of activity in the house was across the house from my computer I had to really turn 'er up and let 'er rip, and they did. Never once did they ever crackle under the stress of the Misfits, Staind, Depeche Mode or a multitude of other bands. After that I knew I had purchased some true champion speakers that I plan to keep for a long time.
