I purchased my HP Scan Jet, just over 6 months ago. All I could say is "it is simply the best", but Yes, I am going to say more.
Please take into account this is the first scanner I have ever bought. So I could be somewhat biased.
I bought a scanner as I was upgrading my computer, and as my husband was being generous decided what the heck! might as well have a scanner as well. No, seriously I use the scanner frequently for my work.
Reasons why I chose the HP scanner
1) I have owned HP printers in the past and they have proved to be reliable and easy to use.
2) I like to keep things as simple and as compatible as possible, so since I already had a HP printer a HP scanner seemed the way to go.
Sorry no great in depth technical reason, but I have not regretted my decision.
The HP is easy to use. It is as simple as putting your picture on the scanner and pressing a button. Being so smart the software almost always makes the right choice of whether it is a picture, text or photograph. You then just export to the appropriate software package. That's it.
I have scanned photographs and then exported them to a graphic package and printed them out and they turn out almost as good as the real thing, this is without using the special photographic paper.
So of you are considering purchasing a scanner I would definitely recommend a look at this product.
