Only Real Executives Use the Corex CardScan.
You really do not have it all until you own this gadget. I call it a gadget not because it does not perform well, quite the opposite it works great, but rather because to me is something you can do without.
This kind of remind me when I owned a scuba shop, the divers that were fully equipped, the ones that would dawn each and every thing I sold in the store were often times the worst divers.
They always insisted in having the latest toys and
gadget that came out, but when it was time to get in the water all they could do was bubbles. They had so many tubes and gauges on them that they could hardly move under water.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
One of the good things about the Corex CardScan Executive is that it is a relatively small piece of equipment. It measures 6.3 cm deep x 17.2 cm wide x 14.1 cm high, so it should easily fit just about anywhere near your computer.
The sole purpose of this hardware is to scan business cards and export the information to your personal information managers.
I could see its utility for the business person that has a very large collection of business cards and want to handle them in an organized manner.
FEATURES
The Corex CardScan Executive has but a few features and this is due to the fact that it is limited in its functions.
The features are:
1) It offers users a choice of connectivity between USB and parallel.
2) Compatible with Windows 95, 98, NT4 and 2,000.
3) Driver supported.
4) Comes with a parallel cable and a calibration card.
5) Software included, a card scan database.
6) The software is also compatible with standard Twain-compliant scanners.
7) A USB cable is supplied with the unit.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
I received the Corex CardScan as a gift. I have used a few times and I like the way it works. It is just now that I am retired I do not have much use for it. I
use to get in one day more business card than I receive in a whole year now.
The way the Corex card scanner works is:
First it scan a card in about 3 seconds after the scanning process the image is then transferred in a text form via the CardScan OCR software.
At that stage you can edit and update the information. Then you can transfer the information to various devices such as a Palm for example.
