I was in the market for a new computer and I have owned 3 HP computer previous to this one and love them all. Well, what got my attention about this one was all of its features such as the Intel® Celeron™ processor 533 MHz which is upgradeable,66mhz frontside bus,20gb hard drive,64mb SDRAM (exp. 256MB), DVD and CD-RW drives all of this comes out to a wonderful computing experience. This is truly a wonderful gaming and multimedia computer!
* Software
I was indeed pleased with the amount of high-quality software preloaded on this system. Such as MS Works, MS Word and MS Excel. I am the type of computer user that gets rid of most of the software preloaded to make room for what I want. What please me is that I didn't have to remove much maybe 2 or 3 programs and I was done.. This is not to say that it has no programs on it and that its a bare-bones system. That couldn't be further from the truth. The reason I only had to only remove a few programs was because of the high amount of high-quality software already preloaded and its all useful not just a bunch of preloaded "junk" or "try this!" or "FREE TRIAL" software its all useful stuff. Overall this computer comes with a great array of software pre installed!
* Compatibility
This system is compatible with almost anything! I have 2 MS Sidewinder game pads, 1 Intel PC PRO Camera, 1 Xerox Printer, 1 Canon Scanner,1 Cable Modem, 1 MS IntelliMouse, 4 Altec Lansing Speakers, and a Partridge in a pear tree :) This may seem like ordinary stuff but when you consider that I can format and restore my hard drive and it can automatically configure all of these devices with no assistance from me! It also has not slowed down during start up due to anything I have added to it. I also have a digital camera which I sometimes have connected to this system and have never had a single problem out of it!
* Gaming
I am admittedly a very heavy gamer! I love almost any kind of computer game! I have put over 20 large very demanding games on this computer and it has never slowed down, had any graphic glitches or and problems of any sort! To name some of these games I have The Sims, Command&Conquer:Tiberian Sun, Rouge Spear, Airport Inc, Need4Speed 4:High Stakes and all of these are demanding games and I never have any problems. NONE AT ALL! This has been the best gaming computer I have ever owned! I am still constantly adding games to this system and they all load and play properly and promptly no lagging or errors!
* Web Surfing
This system can do basically everything. I did have a cable modem installed because I am always downloading MP3's and ADD-ONS for games but as far as compatibility with the Cable Modem and Network card it was all a plug and play situation just plugged it all up and the CPU knew what to do with the exception of the settings you have to put in yourself from the cable company. But honestly this system flies through web pages and downloading! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR SERIOUS SURFERS!
* Who Should Purchase
I think anyone interested in a well rounded,gaming,surfing,multimedia,multi-tasking computer should seriously consider this system its the best computer I have ever owned and the best spent $1000 I have ever spent.. If you are in the market for a new CPU i seriously suggest considering this system!!
