I recently bought a new Compaq Presario and I wanted a name brand monitor to go with it. I knew going in that I wanted to upgrade from my 15" monitor to a 17" monitor.
I looked at all of the different monitors that Best Buy had to offer. They mostly had all generic brand monitors that were between $160-400. Then I found a floor model that they were trying to get rid of. In addition to the floor model discount, I was able to get a $100 rebate on the item. In the end I got a $400 monitor for $170. What a deal. It even came with some high quality speakers that can either affix to the side of the monitor or can be placed on stands that come with them.
I really like the expanded screen area. One can see quite a difference when a 15" monitor put next to it. Except, with the larger screen size comes a larger monitor. The desk that I used to keep my other monitor on had to be modified in order to accommodate the bigger model.
The screen has great resolution and very vibrant color. Any adjustments to screen size or tint are done on screen making it easier to make adjustments when needed.
