Pros: speakers hook up to monitor, microphone built in; clear picture
Cons: speakers keep falling OFF monitor!
The Bottom Line: If I had my "druthers" I'd rather choose a different monitor. The fact that the speakers constantly fall off is really annoying.

| jannarama's Full Review: Compaq MV 540 15 inch CRT Monitor |
We bought a Compaq Presario 5000 recently and liked it. So we bought another one for our daughters to use. They needed a new monitor, so we bought this Compaq MV540.
It has a smaller profile than our other monitor. The buttons on the front are easy to manipulate.
The 2 JBL speakers hang off the side of the monitor, but they don't really stay there too well. My daughters use headphones and if they turn their head the wrong way, the speaker will come off the hinge. There are speaker stands provided.
There is also an audio "in" jack below the speaker jack. To set the volume for the speakers, you need to use the keyboard, or click on the speaker icon beside the clock.
There is a built in microphone at the top of the monitor too. It would be nice to be able to use one of those headset microphones with this system.
