Pros: Good monitor at a fair price!
Cons: When it breaks, Viewsonic is less than helpful!
The Bottom Line: Don't buy! Their warranty service is lacking even basic status of repair!

I bought my monitor new from a system's integrator in January 2001 for $799.00. The stated warranty for this monitor was three years.
On 7/21/2002, the monitor burned something inside, emitting that terrible burned electronics smell, despite the day being clear, and the monitor drawing power thru an APC BACKUPS PRO.
I called for warranty service, and was given an RA #, and told to ship the unit to a Georgia address for repair. The rep on the phone told me it would be repaired or replaced in 48 hours after receipt. The monitor was shipped United Parcel by me at my expense, where it was received on 7/25/02. It is now 8/14/2002, and despite numerous emails for status, I still have not had my monitor returned.
Finally received a refurbished monitor direct from Viewsonic on 8/22/02 - so much for customer disservice! And to show their total disregard for their customers, they shipped the refurbished monitor to me by UPS ground from California to Virginia. It was shipped on 8/15/02.
A whole month for a warranty replacement, and I had to pay shipping to their repair depot in Georgia which cost me about $25.00.
