Pros: Cheap, Good overall sound
Cons: Placement of speakers, Bass gets distorted at higher volumes, Highs aren't really that great
The Bottom Line: If it's cheap, get it, if it's over $100, then there are better options out there.

I am somewhat of an audiophile, just a poor audiophile though. But I do know my stereo stuff. These speakers are great for almost anything, games, music, movies but they aren't the best. With the lowest price of $130 found on-line, I don't really recommend these speakers. First off, the only control it gives you is a volume control with an additional power of controlling the fader (front and rear). It could have been improved if the control came with an additional headphone output, or even bass and treble controls. Also, When i'm in front of the computer listening to music, it's great, but say you want to move farther back or lay down on the bed, the subwoofer, which is usually under your desk is now also closer to you and eventually you hear more bass than highs and mids. So then, when you want to adjust the bass level, you have to go down and find the knob on the subwoofer to readjust it. Also, as the volume gets higher, the subwoofer's bass gets distorted, the speakers also gets distorted with the highs. I actually blew 3 speakers and the sub with the high volume, luckily creative's warranty covered it- however, I had to pay $25 to ship it there. To conclude this: there are better 5.1 set ups out there, and for the price of this one... look around. I did my research and I actually bought mine at a computer show for $50, which is a great price. But if you're goning to pay more than $100 for it, keep shopping. Yamaha makes a pretty good set-up, also look at brands such as (order is set in that what I think is best for the price): Midiland (Videologic), Boston Acoustics, Altec Lansing, Logitech, or even monsoons. If you're a person that needs a moderate or adequate volume, then these are great if you find it for a good price. However, if you're like me who enjoys loud music to the point that you're starting to jepardize your ear's health, then look elsewhere.
