this board was fairly easy to install.. the manual was not particularly well written in its descriptives in the beginning, for example the jumper settings, but the software and final board config instructions for drivers etc were all excedingly easy to do. I like the blue color. I was particularly annoyed with the system bus options for instance the fsb speed of the via kt133 is 100mhz.. and such and the board had a inexplicably hard time configuring or recognizing - or i really dont know what - the seimens 128mb 133mhz sdram chips i stuck in it. No explanation there. Everything else has been pretty snazzy with the unit. I like this board more than the assus units that i have more experience with. The internet update for the bios doesnt work - yu have to find it yourself...the board has had alot of trouble with my agp card which is a nvida tnt2 32mb card. I am getting new drivers now. The main problem has been it crashing and repeatedly rebooting when it encounters switching between graphic settings ie 600x800 256col to 1200x1600 32bitcolor. and so on. this may soley be a driver problem however.
the board came with some utilities for managing the agp card but i cant telll whether they help or hinder. and the virus software it came with as well is a trial norton. the sound hardware is good and was there, but i had a better audio card to use an aureal au8830. My board did have everything on it and in working order. All of the hardware features are functional. The photo of the board for some unknown reason shows a isa slot, but of course there is no isa slot on the board - isa slot is an option. the dual bios functional but always leave me wondering just what settings will optimize my system. in all a functional cheap board that supports a big range of processors, and it has potential if yu are patient.
