Pros: Fairly fast, 5 PCI slots, supports 133 FS Bus, supports Duron/Athlon
Cons: Mainboard failed after 2 months of use
The Bottom Line: Im sure that most Gigabyte mainboards work fine, but after this experience im sticking with Abit or Asus.

| LordSegan's Full Review: Gigabyte GA-7ZX Motherboard |
I built a system for a friend using a gigabyte GA-7ZX a couple of months ago. It installed easily, and the feature set seemed good- 5 PCI slots, support for AMD Duron and Athlons up to 1 GHZ or more, a 133 Bus speed and a good speed rating on most hardware review sites. The install went smoothly, and the motherboard came with all the accessory hardware I needed to install it. The driver CD had a good interface and installed the sound and AGP driver's without a problem.
The problem game a few months later when my friend began complaining that his BIOS settings were resetting at every reboot. At first I was able to fix it by actually resetting his CMOS battery. Within a week, however, the problem was back. I bought a new battery at RadioShack, and the problem seemed to be gone.... for about a week. Currently, we are working on a warranty return from Gigabyte because it appears to be a motherboard problem.
