I bought this a couple of week after it came out. When I first opened the box, I was in awe when I saw the size of the cable that connects between the pci card and the box. Looking at the back of the box, I smiled at all the inputs that this unit offers: Midi in/out, Optical in/out, Coax digital in/out, 2 usb ports in the back and 2 more in the front, 1 set of line outputs (RCA) to hook up to your stereo, 1/8 mini plug for PC speakers. The front has headphone jack w/ Volume control, mic input with level control, a set of line input (RCA), game port and the formentioned usb connections. This unit also does hardware mp3 decoding, and supports most of the major audio applications/decoders in newer pc games including Eax2...etc. Comes with plenty of software including PowerDVD. I am a big gamer when I am not programming and so far, I have not found any incompatibilities with Sound Blaster legacy devices and/or drivers. It is powered by your pci slot, no power adapters. When I saw the Soundblaster Extigy, I noticed too many connections on the front of that unit and was glad that my Game Theater was still better layed out. My only 2 gripes are: The headphone jack could use more volume gain and you really need to update your drivers to use the Optical inputs (as I found out when I was recording opticaly from a DAT machine), then again, I had an early version. It's sexy looking too.
