Not too shabby, a bit touchy though.

Pros: Wide range of refresh ratings, highly shiftable screen, reasonable price, good color saturation and brightness.
Cons: Touchy about magnetic fields, screen size and position is not constant (possibly other hardware)
The Bottom Line: This is a great, very versatile monitor that is simple to operate, has many features, and is good with color. I would recommend this monitor to my friends.

| shoop83's Full Review: ViewSonic G90f 19 inch CRT Monitor |
When I first set up this monitor on my steel shelf system in my dorm room, I noticed the bottom edge was slightly purple. After fussing with all the settings I looked online for a solution. Finding a possible solution, I turned the monitor on its side and the purple moved to that side. The shelves were causing some sort of magnetic signature that was warping the color.
I found this strange because the year before I used the exact same setup with a 17" trinitron monitor and had no adverse effects at all. I don't know if this is because they use a different style of aperature or what the difference might be.
I solved this by moving the monitor to my desk, degaussed it once and the color was fine.
It has also become apparent that when the monitor comes out of screensaver or powersave mode, the screen has shifted to the side and grown a little. This is a bit irritating because the icon names go a smidge off the screen. This might be due to some other video hardware issue, I'm not sure.
Running this monitor with the Radeon 9600 is just fine. I can do up to 200 MHz refresh rate in 1024x768 but prefer 75 MHz because it is what I have always had success with.
The monitor has more onscreen controls than you can shake a stick at; and I can shake a stick at quite a lot. It has every setting change, screen shift twist tilt warp or bend you could want. Except for maybe top and bottom edge pincussion... but I've never had a problem with that.
All in all, with the price I paid, and free shipping on it, this is a good buy. It just seems a bit suceptible to magnetics. That problem is easily enough to fix though.
ViewSonic is a great brand with an awesome warranty. I would recommend them to anyone.
