Pros: Fantastic color and clarity in 3-D and dynamic video applications.
Cons: Not great for 2-D Windows applications - medium difficulty of adjustment.
The Bottom Line: Keep in mind what you plan to use it for: this is not a great-at-everything monitor. Keep it running in 3-D and you will be happy.

| raincaller's Full Review: ViewSonic P95f 19 inch CRT Monitor |
This monitor has exceptional clarity and color when viewing 3-D graphics and movies with high rate of pixel changes. However, it seems that the same cannot be said for the monitor when being used for basic MS Windows applications. I encountered the pincushion effect mentioned in previous reviews with my monitor as well, although not to a terrible degree, as you don't even notice it when you are actually working in Windows. To get a good image on your desktop, you do have to mess around with the manual settings for a while (some automation here would have been nice) but if you know what you are doing, it is not too bad. As for the other reviews below, commenting about the "dead lines" across the screen, about 1/4 the way from the top and bottoms, respectively, this is NORMAL on an Aperture Grill monitor. I refer you to an article at Tom's Hardware:
http://www4.tomshardware.com/display/20020319/crt-03.html
The important part reads:
"The matrix, the opaque part that doesn't allow beams to cross, takes up less room than in the previous technology, and this results in images that are clearer and brighter...The only trouble is that the mask is made up of thousands of very fine filaments and must be held firmly in place. So there are two horizontal damper wires stretched to the full, designed to absorb shocks and expansion when the materials heat up to a certain degree. This produces two dark lines that can be seen on screen against a light background. This can be tiresome for some users, especially if they work with a white background. But the eye gets used to it after a while, and has to look hard to see the lines. Note, too, that the number of lines you can see depends on the size of the screen and especially the size of the mask. There will only be one on a screen of less than 17" and two on bigger screens...Only two manufacturers make tubes with Trinitron technology - Sony, with the FD Trinitron, and Mitsubishi, with the DiamondTron. The PerfectFlat by ViewSonic is actually an adaptation of the latter."
In conclusion, it is an excellent monitor for 3-D and dynamic visual display, but don't go for this one if you spend most of your time in 2-D white-background windows. As for anyone else who has an opinion to post, please actually research the technology you are going to talk about before you complain about a defect, it really lends itself to your credibility.
