Piece of crap notebook shuts down repeatedly. Hp will not support and pretends this is not a problem. It started when I purchased my notebook off a website as refurbished (first mistake). The notebook in the first month started to show this condition of shutting down on its own. At first it was very rare, but after a couple of months of haveing the notebook it started happening very frequently. It got to the point that the notebook would shutdown after a few seconds of starting the notebook making it unusable. I contacted Hp tech support and they said I would have to send it in for repair being the warranty was about to run out. I received the notebook 2 days later and everything was fine again. Of course a month later the notebook started down the same road with the first month shutting down rarely then increasing with time. By this time the warranty had run out and the notebook once again is useless. Hp said I would have to send it in for repair but would have to charge me more than the notebook was worth. I had noticed that there had been hundreds of complaints of this exact problem with different pavilion notebooks with the intel pentium 3 version being the most common problem system. I also found it odd that most people had been through the same exact senario as me and being left with a notebook without warranty and completely useless. At this point I was notified of a news site that had reported that hundreds of people were complaining of this same exact situation and that it has become a very common thing. I still have a useless notebook that seems to have no solution to this problem even after repeated tests as well as others having frequent repairs but cannot pinpoint the exact problem.
