Pros: high quality printing, compact machine replaces 3 others, easy to use
Cons: manual paper feed is difficult to use
The Bottom Line: This is a great 3-in-1 printer model at a fantastic price. It prints, copies, and scans high quality text and pictures quickly and quietly. What more could you ask for?
jrsiegrl's Full Review: Lexmark Jet Z82 InkJet Printer
About 8 months ago, I was wandering through the isles of Best Buy and happened upon a Lexmark Representative demonstrating the Lexmark Z82 printer. I stopped to ask him a few questions and he printed a few pages for me to see the quality of text and images. I was absolutely amazed at how well the printer worked and how easy it seemed to use. I was particularly interested in the printer for it’s photocopying capability. I’m currently working towards my Master’s Degree and have often needed to photocopy from a textbook borrowed from the library. I wondered if it could possibly be as good at home as it was in the store, and decided to purchase the printer with the full intention of returning it to the store if it did not live up to my expectations.
Now, believe me when I tell you that I do not take a $200 dollar investment lightly. For the next week after I brought this printer home, I tested every feature and function multiple times. I printed text, clipart, and photos. I copied, cloned, and collated. I scanned several pictures as well as documents, all with enormous success. And although I haven’t had use for this feature, the printer can act as a fax machine. The printer is quiet, and prints very quickly at draft and normal quality levels. Higher-quality copies take longer, but this is to be expected and the high quality images are well worth the wait.
When I was done putting my new printer through the paces, I realized that for the number of features, $200 seemed like a steal. I began to wonder if this printer was just too good to be true, and thought to myself, “Well, it works great now, but I bet it’ll fall apart in a month or two.” Well, I’ve used this printed almost everyday since I got it last March, and I can tell you that I haven’t had a single problem. I whole-heartedly recommend this, or any of the new Lexmark 3-in-1 printer models, as I’m certain they’ll be just as good, if not better.
