hastingr's Full Review: Epson Stylus Photo 780 InkJet Printer
I selected this model after comparing the output of this printer with the output of some much more expensive printers, both HP and Epson. I already have a Laser and another (older) inkjet printer that I use for daily prit jobs, so I use the Epson strictly for photos.
First off, the photos produced by the 780 are as good as any photo I have seen, make sure to use photo paper, and I have used Epson photo paper from the start. I thought that I would compare the photos from the printer, taken with a Nikon Coolpix 950 at 1600X1200 at medium compression, with photos taken from my 35mm Nikon N6006 SLR (ASA 400) and printed at the local photo place.
I placed four samples of each on a table and asked passing coworkers which was which, without letting them pick up the print. Many people tested, had great trouble determining which was which, and they got it wrong about half the time.
That is a powerful statement.
Let's just say that this is an incredible photo printer, at a fabulous price.
One problem though is that it jams more than what I would consider "normal"
